Modern Family Garden in Whitefield

The inspiration for this garden was drawn from our client’s desire to create a modern and contemporary garden, as well as incorporating as much privacy as possible.

The Process

The first area of focus was the fencing, we installed a bespoke design made up of wooden lats to a height that is higher than average. We used planting to add more privacy to the garden and built a retaining wall to house the large root bowls of the trees, we faced off the walls with the same materials used on the patio areas. Finally, we used some wall caps to really make the wall pop. We planted pleached trees, ensuring the base of the tree heads matched the height of our fence. To compliment the larger trees, we planted a mix of shrubs and bulbs to offer year-round interest.

We used two different materials for the hard standing areas, stone paving for the walkways and resin for the main seating area which has been positioned next to a new water feature.

The last piece to complete this family garden was a lush new lawn adding colour and softness to the overall appearance of this new modern space.
